As a clean, efficient, safe and sustainable new energy, hydrogen energy has become an important direction of low-carbon energy development and transformation. At the hydrogen energy economic development forum held recently, Han Wei, Executive Deputy Secretary General of China Hydrogen Energy Alliance, said, "At present, hydrogen energy has been officially included in China's top-level strategy, five ministries and commissions have approved five fuel cell vehicle demonstration application city clusters, and several provinces have issued special hydrogen energy policies. The application of hydrogen energy is being carried out, and the industry is entering a new stage of development."

According to the data, by the end of 2021, China has achieved a hydrogen production capacity of about 40 million tons/year, an output of about 33 million tons/year, and 8939 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. By the end of June this year, more than 270 hydrogen refueling stations had been built in China, ranking first in the world.

The "double carbon" goal endows hydrogen energy with greater responsibility and mission. Lin Zhongqin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice secretary of the Party Committee and president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, predicted that China's annual demand for hydrogen would exceed 37 million tons in 2030, accounting for 5% of the final energy consumption; On the premise of carbon neutralization in 2060, the annual demand for hydrogen will further rise to 130 million tons, accounting for 20% of the final energy consumption.
